ALL CONCERNED:

At 3:01 P. M. Tuesday, Nov. 20th, Automatic Interlocking will be placed in service to govern movements over G.T.W. crossing at Lakeland, and thereafter movements of trains and engines will be according to signal indications, as provided by block signal and interlocking rules and special instructions.

Westward Home signal – 2 unit color light.  Location: 384 feet east of G.T.W. crossing

Eastward home signal – 2 unit color light.  Location: 350 feet west of G.T.W. crossing.

Above signals will display indications as prescribed by timetable Rules 281, 290 and 292.

Westward approach signal: semaphore (not operative).  Location: 3507 feet east of home signal.

Eastward approach signal: semaphore (not operative).  Location:  3514 feet west of home signal

Above signals display indication prescribed by timetable Rule 285A.

For westward movement doing work at Lakeland and leaving train east of interlocking a box has been mounted on eastward home signal which contains push button to be depressed for 5 seconds to actuate eastward permissive signal for movement over crossing returning to train.

In event signal indication permitting train or engine to proceed is not displayed on the home signal for intended movement, and the cause is not apparent, a nember of crew will go to box marked A.A.R.R., located on signal case in north quadrant at crossing, and follow instructions posted therein.

INSTRUCTIONS – LAKELAND INTERLOCKING

TRAINMENS INSTRUCTIONS

(1.) When a train or engine is stopped by a STOP indication and no immediate conflicting movement is evident, a member of the crew must proceed to the crossing and unlock box marked A.A.R.R. and push button (press button 5 seconds before releasing).   After a three minute interval A.A.R.R. indicator lamp should light indicating that A.A.R.R. interlocking signal should be displaying “Proceed” indication and movement may be made over crossing in accordance with signal indication.
(2.) If after complying with paragraph (1) the A.A.R.R. interlocking signal fails to display “Proceed” indication, proceed until leading truck of engine or car has passed stop signal at least fifty (50) feet, occupying track section between signal and crossing, but not foul of crossing.  Wait five (5) minutes, place lighted red fusee on each side of crossing on G.T.W. track and proceed.
(3.) Push button box is mounted on eastward interlocking signal for use in obtaining signal for engine to return to train, when train is left east of interlocking.

 

PUSH BUTTON – EASTWARD MOVEMENT RETURNING TO TRAIN

 

This push button is for use of westward A.A.R.R. trains to obtain eastward signal for engine to return to train when train is left east of interlocking.

PRESS PUSH BUTTON (PRESS BUTTON 5 SECONDS BEFORE RELEASING.)

 

If signal does not clear, follow instructions posted in box marked A.A.R.R. at crossing.
